Before the heavens and the earth, there was only Elyon. Elyon created the heavens to be a home forever, from which he could rule all of His creation. Within the heavens were wonderful things and wonderful creatures. It was good.
Once the heavens were complete, Elyon created the earth. Everything worked together. Everything had a purpose, a place, and a part. Elyon created a living system.
After the earth was complete and functioned on its own, Elyon brought with Him from the heavens a select few to create paradise on earth. Elyon established that this first habitation would have one translation from heaven to earth and one return. Once the return occurred, the work would remain entrusted to those who stayed behind and would continue without another physical intervention of the same kind.
Elyon, in His infinite wisdom, knew He needed to create a permanent safe haven for His children. The light from which they came needed to remain on earth so they could always use it as a source of strength and inspiration.
Once paradise was completed, Elyon declared that it would be a resting place for His children forever. Bene Elyon, meaning “children of Elyon,” was the foundation, and from that, Benalyon was born.
Once Elyon saw that Benalyon was complete and good, He called for the finest of those He had brought with Him—including His Son, Jesus Christ, who would remain the living fulfillment and head of Benalyon forever—to return to the heavens.
Everyone was sad to see them leave because a great bond and love had formed while preparing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
After the translation, a mysterious event occurred: one of the stones from Elyon’s throne remained behind.
The reason the Sapphire did not translate is unknown to everyone except Elyon. Some say it was left behind in error. Others say Elyon has never made a mistake and left it behind so that it would fall into the right hands. People believed that whoever had control of the stone would possess the keys to the Kingdom.
The Founding Steward of Benalyon was the only person present after the translation. Not knowing the true power of the stone and frightened by what might come, he frantically began devising a plan to ensure that the Sapphire would be permanently protected.
What unfolded was the creation of a labyrinth that was not locked by common keys, but by faith and knowledge.
A creature was born to guard the Labyrinth that possessed neither good nor evil. Its name was Vellen.
Vellen has no opinion on anything. He cannot speak. He does not know what he is capable of, nor does he have any idea of the knowledge entrusted to him. All of Vellen’s abilities become available only on an as-needed basis. Vellen has been given the ability to do whatever is necessary to protect the stone.
During this period, outside of the Labyrinth, things were absolutely magical. There was enough active True Source left on earth that amazing things occurred, such as animals speaking and physical landmarks having connections to the world around them.
There was never a moment of negativity. No one was poor in spirit, and everyone was loved. In Benalyon, everyone lived as if there were only one heart and one mind—one big family.
Once the Founding Steward completed the Labyrinth and ensured that the stone was protected by Vellen, he was spontaneously translated to heaven.
Most people agree that his vigilance and hard work in protecting the stone were enough for Elyon to permanently translate him. Others believed the translation occurred because the Steward had misunderstood his intended responsibility toward the Sapphire.
During this period, the names Benalyan Labyrinth and Benalyan Sapphire were adopted. In both cases, “Benalyon” can also be used, depending on who is speaking. Some people view them as official Benalyon landmarks, while others view them as things that simply happen to exist within Benalyon.
Many have tried and failed to complete the Labyrinth.
One man went farther than anyone before him, but he did it alone. He goes by the name Dorian.
Some people believe Dorian is actually Talon, who helped build the Kingdom of Heaven on earth with Elyon and later changed his name for protection. Others believe he is an entirely different person who traveled from far away in search of the stone. People say that to possess the knowledge Dorian has, he must have been there from the beginning. These answers, however, remain a mystery.
Dorian was later sought out by a young warrior named Kairo, who wanted Dorian to help guide him through the Labyrinth.
There was only one problem: Dorian could not leave where he was for many reasons, and Kairo could not accomplish what he needed to do alone.
So, with the help of other seekers, Dorian trained a group of explorers to use each other’s unique skills to help Kairo complete the mission.
Whether Kairo succeeded remains an unanswered mystery.
In the present day, Benalyon is an abandoned site, only to be rediscovered by a group of young people on a school trip.
As often as they can, they dedicate their time to exploring Benalyon and rediscovering everything that was forgotten—perhaps even answering some of the questions that have remained unanswered for thousands of years.
